"It is with great excitement that I endorse the Neighborhood Performance Project. The impact that music can have on a community is profound and immediate. NPP's goal of presenting chamber music performed at local venues by local musicians will, without doubt, create a vibrant, diverse community."

Our mission
The NPP enlivens Bay Area neighborhoods by presenting chamber music ensembles in neighborhood venues. In order to build a more vibrant arts scene and to provide work opportunities for local musicians, we produce exciting performances that are accessible and affordable to the diverse population of the Bay Area. We harness the power of music to build and strengthen our communities.
Why we exist
We love great chamber music and we want everyone in the Bay Area to experience high-quality music in comfortable and accessible settings without having to pay an exorbitant ticket price. The NPP provides a platform for talented local musicians to share their music and be paid a professional wage for their work.
How we work
Fiscally sponsored by Intersection for the Arts, the NPP is now raising funds to produce neighborhood performances that feature top Bay Area chamber ensembles representing a variety of genres including classical, jazz, Latin, folk, contemporary, and other forms. We will partner with local organizations, businesses, and artists to present dynamic performances in neighborhood venues such as libraries, schools, community centers, art galleries, cafes, places of worship, and parks.
